We recently completed a 4 day Appreciaitve team building activity process with an international organisation.
Even though we espose the value and benefits of focussing on the positive and building on strengths, the company leader decided to follow an old way of blaming, naming and shaming in total contrary to our suggestion and urging.
In our intnention: to support the leadership in all reasonable avenues, we allowed them to follow their old energy sapping process - after all, they were paying for what they wanted...
It took a while before their own staff spoke up and commented on how badly the team building was suddenly going since the approach changed from our Ai positive team building process to the old blaming style problem solving process.
Our powerful team building lesson...? Even if the boss wants to revert to old style shaming / problem solving.... we will not participate in the team breaking process.
We know that Apprecitive inquiry Team building is a much more effective and positive process than the old style blaming process.
Message.. Appreciative Inquiry based team building process can get you achive far greater results that are sustainable and implementable in the longer term.
